The Lyrics

In less than two weeks, 11/24/04, the busiest travel day of year will be upon US airports and various other ground transportation services. What will I be doing on this day? You'll have to read to the end of this parody to find out.
Had the most wonderful time getting here,
My alarm clock was gelling,
I woke up to yelling "hey you big queer!"
Had the most wonderful time getting here.

Got the nap - nappiest taxi of all,
My hack did no greeting, that sandwich he's eating
Smelled bad I recall
Was the nap - nappiest driver of all.

Next the airport they're closing,
Some nut case opposing,
Carry on baggage won't show.
It was scarcely a worry,
Flight i-tin-er-ary now
Misses-es on down the row.
Down the row.

Had the most blunderful time getting here,
Now my whistle I'm blowing,
I just can't get going,
Thanksgiving is here!
Had the most blunderful time getting here.

[Interlude]

Now departing though groaning,
Stretch eight through Wyoming,
They're shoveling off air depots.
On the prairie some flurries,
Assailed and did bury in,
Blizardous icy cold snow.

Had the most wonderful time, would appear,
Adventures in flying,
There is no denying,
Was fun getting here.

Had the most wonderful time,
Yes, the most wonderful time,
Think at home that I will dine, come next year.

I enjoyed it, Guy; doesn't seem like an easy one to parody, either.

Royce - It actually was not all that difficult but telling a story or a joke in a parody is what I like to do with them.

Thanks everyone, writing this was almost as enjoyable as Thanksgiving. Hope everyone that celebrates it has a good one. Anyone planning on flying on or around the 24th?

A little pacing trouble, though one missing syllable is not enough to lower my vote: 555 frequent flyer miles for your account. Goodness knows I've made a lot of holiday trips like this one, so I can definitely relate to the story.
