The Lyrics

I know..Dolly Parton did it first, and wrote it, too...but this is Whitney's version from the movie with her and Kevin Costner, "The Bodyguard" from 1992...and I added a recitation, just because I wanted to..
Right here I'll stay
I shall not let me get away
If I went, discontent..
I'd miss old me every step of the way..

And I-I-I will always love me,
I will always love me..
Me, my own dear me..mmmm

I bring sweet memories
Couldn't bear to take them from me
No goodbye..I would cry
We both know it's me that we, we need

And I-I-I will always love me,
I will always love me..

(Instrumental so low)

(Recitation)
We've been close for many years,
Myself and me..
And let's be honest - we all love ourselves
God says we're supposed to..
Just not too much, I guess,
But who sets the standard?
Anyway, I know I couldn't get
Along without me..could you?
Get along without you, I mean..
So let's all love ourselves,
And each other..

Cuz I will always love me,
I will always love me-ee-ee..
I will always love me,
I will always love me,
I will always love me
I, I will always love me

Me, baby, I love me.
Ooh, I'll always, I'll always love me..

As a musical advocate of cloning, I can appreciate your sentiments. "Love thy neighbor as thyself". And if your neighbor doesn't want your love. Well, there's always yourself. Without you, you can do nothing at all.

Nice reversal on this awful OS. This reminds me of an old Seinfeld episode where Jerry gets engaged to someone just like him and realizes he was in love with himself.

I agree, Sir L'Air de Farce, ~ The Mighty Duke 0Edge`, ~Lord SatyrMayor~ Dolly's version (her write) is more emotional than WH's. I like her ~ JOLENE ~ & her ~ Nine-to-Five ~ Dolly's writings are under appreciated !

Great parody, AFW! It's always important to love yourself! I echo all comments above. Give yourself some 5's and a pat on the back!

May I whip this parody out next time someone accuses me of being egotistical (happens surprisingly often!) :) Excellent concept, excellent write -- two peas in a shell, are we in thought here. Top Fives.

Thank you Little Dolly Cakes...I've always been a big fan of Dolly's..and sometimes she needs cooling, or maybe we, (meaning me and Sniffy) do..whist viewing her magnificent talent, (each of them)..just kidding...Way back when, Dolly used to do a tv comm'l for Breeze detergent...they gave some kind of promotional gift, at that time...and I'll never forget her final line, "An' ya' kin only git 'em in boxes a' Breeze.." Now we know where she got 'em.. ( :.. And thanks, Christie..and Double T, and TJC, and Fiddlegirl...

... but surely you don't mean that? Thought everyone was sick of the genre. ... oh, yeah, that's right, wave a drink at the reformed alkie, a ciggie under the nose of the quitter, a snort at those leaving the Betty Ford center... Who knew FG was G** D*** The Pusher Man?
