The Lyrics

Not everyone is inherently gifted with athletic talent. It takes hard work to be a good athlete. A lot of people want the talent without all the hard work, so they whine about. Such is the case with this towel boy.
Verse 1: I’ll bet you’ll never see lil’ Frankie Milton play
This kiddy hasn’t got what it takes to join the fray
“Sit your butt down!” “I’ve been practicing.”
Those cheers would be nice, but it ain’t happening
Give me a shot, I swear I won’t miff it
I tried to raise the bar, but I couldn’t lift it
There goes my dream of joining the pros
So I’m in the gym cleaning the player’s clothes

Chorus: I’m stranded as a towel boy!
I should’ve learned to juke and fly
Carry the big cooler, wiping their foreheads on a winning drive
Stinking of athlete farts
It would be my ploy
Playing in the big games
But I’m stranded as a towel boy

Verse 2:I might’ve been an all-star with a cool nickname
Running fast to the goal maybe win the game
Making love while still a teenager
Have a towel boy do my English paper
“Go ‘head young man, hasn’t it been said
No athletics are that easy, hard-work and sweat”
Sneaking out one night, ready to make the switch
With a gleam in my eye and a powder that will itch!

Chorus: I’m stranded as a towel boy!
I should’ve got a chance to shine
Bringing them cool water, cleaning there clothing is a boring life
Pushing those laundry carts
I’m slightly annoyed
Smelling those athlete thongs
Oh, it sucks to be a towel boy

[Gym work-out montage]

Chorus: I’m no longer a towel boy!
I hit the gym and exercised
Now I’m wearing that sweet jersey, beware because this towel’s been weaponized
Stealing the young girls hearts
It will give me joy
Hearing the crowd cheer on
For, tis former little towel boy

If I ever wanted to get involved in sports I would also more than likely be their towel boy

This reminded me of my parody "Mama (I Finally Made The Team)" a waterboy! I think towelboy might be worse! haha A lot of great lines in here and the pacing was pretty spot on. My only critique is that I would have made a bigger deal out of using itching powder in a towel to get him on the team (at least, that's what I assume happened). Other than that, nice work!

I was expecting a clever story here with the intro (with a tragic or triumphant ending) fell flat for me. It kind of goes from point A to B, and jumps to Z in the last chorus. The detail about the powder is confusing--I thought it was referring to jock itch powder, which is supposed to prevent itching. The fiction writer in me says "take it back for a rewrite to smooth out the rough edges."

It takes hard work to even look athletic, but there are some people who are just conceited and lazy. 555 reps.

(Artistry) I agree with Agri. The parody didn't really show that the singer was meant to be whining that he wasn't on the team despite not having the skills, in fact, it seemed like a straight-forward "underdog-sports-star-film" kinda plot. If the intro wasn't there, this parody'd be great, 555 and all that, but as it stands it didn't live up to the promise of said intro.
