The Lyrics

March 17th
Is coming' around.
The bars will be packed
All over your town.

Leprechauns with gold
Are on the scene
The rivers in town
Are a shade of green

Celebrate no matter
What faith you are
Pack the old
Emerald bar

When you wake up
No work and all play
And grab a beer on
This Irish holiday

St. Patty's Day! (Drink Away! Drink Away!)
St. Patty's Day! (Drink Away! Drink Away!)
St. Patty's Day! (Drink Away! Drink Away!)
St. Patty's Day! (Drink Away! Drink Away!)

Make sure you wear some green
A clover idea
It's sure to bring you luck
Can't wait to see ya

Meet us at the bar
We're about to get started
And -be a part of the
St. Patrick's Day party

St. Patty's Day! (Drink Away! Drink Away!)
St. Patty's Day! (Drink Away! Drink Away!)
St. Patty's Day! (Drink Away! Drink Away!)
St. Patty's Day! (Drink Away! Drink Away!)

A couple more years and I can really enjoy this holiday, all I get now is corn beef and cabbage.. Which I would trade in a heartbeat for a mug of green beer. "A Clover Idea" was a cute line.

Matthias already "nick"ed the "A clover idea" line; that was my favorite, too. Congrats on the first submission of this song (and band).

Decathlon...as a non-drinker, I've always felt a little cheated by Saint Patrick's Day...although I did always like to request that the folks at the bar dye my Sprite green so that I could fit in with all of my friends. ; )
