The Lyrics

I'm at badave.com

The Smashing Pumpkins "Smash" hit was actually a nightmare of a song to parody, repetitive chorus aside, there are a lot of tricky internal rhymes that are easy to miss. . .so I figured I'd make it about that. Unlike "Rhymezone's for" this is not a list parody as much as it is making fun of the fact that most of us (myself included) have to sacrifice making sense sometimes to make rhymes for a parody. . .this one has that done intentionally
Rhymes make awesome lines and all
Yes they're ever clever speech
Sounds appealing like bees or booze

And some lines sound overall strange
Throw words in like ball and chain
Your vocab range-it begins to reel

Intrigue, Indeed for me, Indy Inbreed
That last one's strange, your brain begins to strain
Is Dave Insane?
In parodies we rhyme
We rhyme to rhyme, so fine
In Time
We Rhyme

And it blows when writing pure
Ain't no cure for Gordon's write
The one he did bout that ship crash bites

and the headaches keep you 'wake
It's a nightmare you can't fake
Keep pace and do not get bored

It's deep, to keep and leap, For creeps and peeps
Are they absolute apathy oh no
And if you like me then you must like my writes
Tonight, alright -- so trite
It rhymes, It rhymes
We'll sacrifice the sense-filled lines to rhyme to rhyme
It won't sound bright, and it may bite to rhyme to rhyme
We'll find a light to finish up the write tonight
It's Uncontestable nonsense but it rhymes these lines
The improbable is probable For rhymes to rhyme
So stretch for me as I will stretch for you, tonight
To Rhyme these rhymes
Lime Rhymes with Rhyme

Interesting. Seems like there was some alliteration in there as well. Nice write.

(Artistry) These lines 'bout rhymes were quite sublime, so I vote 5-5-5!

Seems like a very sarcastic Dr. Seuss parody. My computer is acting funny so I wasn't able to hear these nonsensical lines that you're talking about but still this was a very fun parody and could even be broadcast on Sesame Street.

Finally, a parody that dares to ask "Is Dave insane?" And of course, it's a parody written by Dave. That's just crazy. :-) Fun concept, fun write.

(Artistry) Dave! You're giving away all my secrets. And I loved the self depricating Dr. Seuss style you wrote this in!
