The Lyrics

So that's the act that you begged, begged to show me?
You expected me to laugh?
I've never seen an act so damned awful
'Scuse me while I blow "Taps"! (Oh no..oh well..)
Now Rich Little did stuff so good
And Frank Gorshin was ttop class
You haven't seen or heard? You should!
I really wonder if you'll ever get to Hollywood
Audience will just say "Boo!"
Because you're act just isn't good
With the impressions that you do

It makes me feel so sad to be that guy
To say that you can't pass the test
You say you wanna headline Funny Or Die?
Your performance will cause much distress. (Oh no...whoa...)
Your juggling trick was kinda good
The political joke was gas--
"Barack Obama In Da Hood"
But I just wonder why you never, ever understood
Because I'm the one to tell you true
Your audition isn't good
With the impressions that you do

With your Ron Howard, the development's arrested
Your voices stink--in fact, I'd say they suck ass
Your Charlton Heston--nice try there, Chevy Chase? Oh my!
Then Noel Coward? I'm afraid that they just don't pan out

I don't mean to be so crude
You sound more like Mama Cass, when you're doing Natalie Wood
It's such a wonder that no one has told you you're no good
It's so bad, I tell you true
Because dammit someone really should
It's the impressions that you do

My advice is that I think you really should
Take an improv/acting class
I really wonder if it could make you better or not
Better not, 'cause you're not for Hollywood
'Til your act approaches good
So excuse me if I boo
At the impressions that you do

Check out my JFK impression. And have my friend Will Jordan do a drop-dead imitation of Ed Sullivan.

I was going to do a song about voice impressions too but you did a much better version that what I was trying to come up with. I liked this one a lot!

(Artistry) Overall it's a solid parody. Other than the first verse (which had a few awkward pacing things), your pacing was great and the rhymes where good too. For me, I think the topic was stretched a little too thin. There wasn't enough material for me to really sink my teeth into. There were some great moments, the bridge in particular was wonderful. Question: why were most of your impression references so dated? I feel like there aren't a lot of people out there doing Noel Coward or Natalie Wood impressions anymore. It kind of pigeon holes the parody into a different generation. Just my opinion though.

@Blaydeman, answer: That was entirely the point. Not only was this impressionist bad, he (or she, maybe) picked more obscurely voiced celebrities for their material.

Looking for talent in standup...sucks to be that guy.

(Artistry) If your stand-up material sucks so bad that you think your only hope is doing (terrible and obscure) impressions, I think you should do an impression of a guy giving up. Awesome parody here, aside from the occasional pacing stumbles. 555!

Overall, it's pretty solid. I think the topic did get stretched thin a little...but it's still a really funny concept that I wouldn't have thought of and you did a great job with it. Well done.
