The Lyrics

for the original video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sFfwR0dJzUw The album version of the song is better though.
So the past is tempting,
From the times of the golden dome
Why does the future ache you?
Is it just that it's unknown?
Well, when the world seems broken up
And we seem now enemies,
Must be all the bullshi* you've heard
That's repressing honesty
You don't have to pretend
Your gender is better than me

So just tell me why
Women must bow to you
Just tell me why
Veils that we wear for you
Just tell me why
Women aren't good enough

When little girls are told they're not handy
Unless to men they obey,
The more it's broken the will inside
All their confidence betrayed
It's just the laws that serve the older
And push the young around
They like to keep them so afraid
And those who aren't are stoned
But I don't understand
Who deserves to live through all this...

[2x]
So just tell me why
The women must bow to you
Just tell me why
The veils that they wear for you
Please explain now why
The women aren't good enough
Oh... so just tell me why
To see her face is taboo
You make them cry
And they will still care for you
Some even die
And still to you -- not good enough

Beautifully done, MrMacp., as surely any daughter's dad can see. It's pastiches like this that make me wish the voting buttons included another option to "How Funny" to heap praise for appropriateness, on-targetness, affectingness, what have you.

I was raised to believe men and women are equal. . .I accidentally voted 555, because of sentiment, but then as both Guy DiRito and Red Ant would agree to, and something I for whatever reason didn't consider before, is that parodies aren't always meant to be funny (certainly is the case with some of mine). . .Have you ever seen Wife Swap? Some men are so degrading to women, and to hear some of them--it's like they don't even realize they are being treated like garbage, I just wanna see those men alone and shown what it's like to be someone else's maid. . .Oy

Thanks, Stan, Alvin, LCC, and BAD... :) I haven't seen Wife Swap, but it sounds pretty sad.
