The Lyrics

This is the one I'm most proud of out of my parodies. I think every good parody writer should have a version of this song in their collection. This is the ultimate parody...about writing parodies
Load up on grunge and bring your pen
It's fun to abuse some song lyrics
I'm over bored, let's keep the chords
And notes but go with witty words

Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no
Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no
Oh no, oh no, oh no, oh no
Oh no, oh no, oh no...

Get the white out, quick mistake fix
My guitar's out, let me play it
That line's stupid, let's erase it
Parody writing is outrageous
Grab some rock n roll, here's my prime goal
Changing lyrics that are meaningless

I'm cursed at what I am blessed
And for this gift I feel obsessed
I'll sing a tune and always sing
The wrong way from my parodies

Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well
Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well
Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well
Oh well, oh well, oh well...

Now I'm psyched out, and the stage is
Already set by music's greatest
Grab some music, demonstrate if
I do better than Kurt Cobain did
Sure Nirvana did a nice job
Took their single, made a real song

Oh why do I write parodies?
Oh yeah, I guess it's just my style
I found it's hard to start and write
Cause well, it takes a creative mind

I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know, I know, I know
I know, I know, I know...

Now I cry out music makes us
Who we are now, can't escape it
Play acoustic add some bass and
Here's a song now for the ages
No I'm not a prima donna
But I love to diss Nirvana

Let's get wild
Grab the dial
Crank it higher
Where's the tylenol
Now it's my call
Make em my songs
It makes me smile
I got time so
I'll go write some

WOW! You actually wrote lyrics that were really similar in tone to the original without being mondegreens! 5-5-5 for you!! Having said that, writing parodies is my style, but I don't know how to play any instruments except the air guitar, so they're just written down, unless anyone has a band & is interested in performing them. And yes, there are times when I'm trying to pick the right lyrics to match the pacing of the OS & rhyme good, but I eventually find a way.
