The Lyrics

I just saw the pronunciations you gave me for Legolas, Merryadoc, and Galadriel. I am still not fluent in Tolkien's ficticious tongues. In this parody, a Kurt Cobain wannabe attempts to pronounce LOTR names.
Muh-'rye-uh-dok? No Mer-ry-'add-uhk!
'Leg-oh-luhs, it is pronounced
Loth-'lor-i-en has other names
Such as Laurel-in-'dór-e-nan

LOTR, LOTR
LOTR, LOTR
LOTR, LOTR
LOTR, Hello

There's Guh-'la-dree-ell and there's 'Kel-uh-born
Sam and 'Fro-do, we pronouncee it
You'll feel stupid [when] you pronounce this
'Mer-ry-'add-uhk, then there's 'Gan-dalf

I say 'Per-uh-grin
I say 'Thee-uh-duhn
And Loth-'lor-ee-uhn
Mer-ry-'add-uhk
Yeah!

Yeah!
Yeah!

I'm worst at pronouncing names
From Tolkien's Lord of the Rings
My tongue pronounces things like
Muh-'rye-uh-dok, which ain't correct

LOTR, LOTR
LOTR, LOTR
LOTR, LOTR
LOTR, Hello

I say 'Worm-tongue and Luh-'go-lus
I say 'Shmee-gol, Oz-go-'li-ath
Mr. Tolkien, please pronounce this
You're deceased now, for three decades

Please pronounce this
Mer-ry-'add-uhk
And the Elvish
I am tongue-tied
Yeah!

Yeah!
Yeah!

(Guitar solo accompanied by horrible pronunciations of names and places from "Lord of the Rings.")

And I forgot that Dwarf dude's name
But yet I guess it's 'Gim-lee something
The glossary is hard to find
Oh well, whatever, nevermind

LOTR, LOTR
LOTR, LOTR
LOTR, LOTR
LOTR, Hello

Now I give up, Mr. Tolkien
Could you help me? Please pronounce this
I feel stupid, and I'm tongue-tied
Could you help me? Please pronounce this

Oh, I give up
Mer-ry-'add-uhk
'Bil-bo 'Bag-gins
Oh, forget it

Oh, I give up
Oh, I give up
Can't pronounce this
Mr. Tolkien
Can't pronounce this
It's too difficult
Too much syllables
Now, I'm tongue-tied
Oh, forget it!!!!!

This made me think of my sister's dislike of anything LOTR-related, and also my great-nephew's love of it all. She says he 'likes anything with names of more than three syllables'! Good one!

A really clever idea, but it really needs to keep rhyming the way the original does, otherwise you lose the giggles. And speaking of pronounciation, how does one pronounce "LOTR" for this song? :)445
