Okay I'll jump on the trendy band wagon. Here's my little spoof of if another artist wrote a song I've never even heard before. So without further ado, The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald had it been written by Megadeth frontman, Dave Mustaine. (Original Song here.)

The lake will not give up drowned souls
Oil tanker thinks it's watertight
Sail on doubtless on through the night
The storm it came out of no where
Freezing rain from monsoon weather

My trend spirit is satisfied. A bit of a darker Edmund Fitzgerald spoof, but oh well.

Welcome aboard our sinking ship. I'll have to check out the original melody. Megadeth is a good description of a ship sinking with all hands. Your lyrics are evocative of the event and the Gordon Lightfoot song. I like the line "abyss of death and ice". You have made a worthy contribution to the series.
Awesome coming from the man who started the trend, however I must say, with all due respect.....Megadeth is far from a sinking ship.
