The Lyrics

In case you haven't heard, NASA is planning a launch on May 12, which is good, however they have a second sh*ttle ( I mean shuttle ) ready to rescue the first if (when ) something goes wrong. This is perhaps the dumbest idea in space history. Read the news and you will see how many problems can happen with this "plan". I say go over shuttle 1 with a fine tooth comb and delay the launch if necessary, but sending up 2 questionable spacecraft is not good. Not going to make this a blog, read the news and draw your own conclusions. PS- I hope everything goes right, I have seen 3 shuttle launches live ( one in Florida ) and 2 of them didn't make it. If this mission fails, the shuttle program which is scheduled to end in 2010 will probably be scrapped if something goes wrong.
Endangered mission, bad foresight
Don't want to see, the shuttles plight
The date is set, you'll pay the price
A dumb idea, poor advice
Technology, the shuttles are old
Challenger lost because of cold
Columbia too makes me mad
NASA idiots, the plan is bad.....
The plan is bad
( chorus )
All are gone, all but three
I protest, others like me
Few more left, down to three
This is it, this is the Countdown Two Destruction

Tell the truth, you wouldn't dare
Morton Thiokol, don't go there
Dumbest thing ever I heard
Shuttles be fixed, thats absurd?
Evils anagram is lives
NASA you shouldn't even try
Disease must be contagious
POINT BLANK: It's so outrageous
So outrageous
( chorus )

'two months from now
another travel for life forms
will disappear trying to leave the planet
on that day.......and the poor odds are depressing'

( chorus )

There's nothing like a successful rescue mission to make people forget the events that lead to failure in the first place, just look at the Apollo program, which one of the trips have Hollywood made a heroism movie about so that it will never be forgotten how many things they did right under pressure? That's right, 13, the FAILED one. Also, Will Tong, Michael Moore et al would probably say the same about the whole "war on terror" thingy but I guess its to big an issue to go into here. *Comment crashes and dies*

I hope we don't have another Columbia incident...I remember the loud explosion woke me up only to discover later that day it was the space shuttle. Anyways, it's good to see some Megadeth parodies!

When I was in Orlando, I saw a launch ( not through a TV ) and it was awesome. I was in like 2nd grade when we all got to see Challenger become an expensive firework and just recently got to Columbia do its best meteor shower impression. Space flight is important, but the Arianna rockets can deliver payloads to space with no people. MANNED space flight needs to be put on hold for a while, there is nothing so damned critical off this planet that needs the shuttles attention. Blog off.

DKTOS (not being much of a Megadeth fan, especially after seeing them play at Donington many years ago), but I did like the premise and execution of this one - very well written.

Thanks Phil, this parody had more forethought than the entire NASA head honchos. Agreed, Megadeth in concert is not very good.

Awww...I'm planning to see Megadeth in concert on Aug. 2nd...

You were right...Megadeth was not as great as I thought in concert. It was b/c the guitars were drowning out his voice.
