The Lyrics

I hate slideshows. I've never sat through a slideshow of someone's holiday snaps, but if I did (and they were named Jim) it would go something like this:
You change the slides slowly
It hurts not to close my eyes
Holiday pics bore me
You could make it last all night

"And next we have - oh dear
That can't be right - I fear
Why's that in here?"

You take a break
To order your pics - great!

Waste my night
Rescue me
I cannot stand this boring slideshow
Take all night
You're killing me
Why can't I skip your boring slideshow?

Photos of the wetlands
And you in too-tight slacks
Is this thing done yet, man?
You said there would be snacks!

One thing I don't get, Jim
The pics that have you in
One nagging thing:

Who took the pic?
What poor man got sucked in?

Bored as shite
Can't you see
Can't stand to watch your boring slideshow
Waste my night
Torturing me
I cannot stand your boring slideshow

[instrumental, during which my brain starts to melt]

How much longer now - mountains can't get too higher
If there's one more shot I'll set something on fire

No more stories, please Jim
Praying someone comes in
Shoves you in bin

The projector too!

Waste my night
Gotta pee
But you won't stop your boring slideshow
Up all night
(You on the screen)
You on the screen
And other gits star in your slideshow

Waste my night
Not funny
(Not funny)
The jokes you tell during the slideshow
Up all night
I'll go crazy
If we finish this boring slideshow

Boring slideshow!
Boring slideshow!
Boring slideshow!
Bored!
KRYTEN: Sir, can we just take a break for a while? My intelligence circuits appear to have melted. RIMMER: Well, we're not going to get through them all if we have a second break. KRYTEN: Sir, that's a gamble I'm willing to take. [Note: Kryten is an android, Rimmer is a hologram, and they're both from the show Red Dwarf, which is an awesome show]

I can relate to this because my dad loves making slideshows of pictures from every vacation we go on... And even though I'm in them they can still get really boring, really fast even though he adds in music and movies from the trip in there. One of your best T-Cop!

(Artistry) Very original idea, executed very well. It's hard to rhyme "evil" so you subbed with something reallyclose that worked very good. The mounting frustration works with Halford's ever-dramatic vocals.

(Artistry) Excellent concept well done. I'll be sending you the slideshow of my Europe vacation soon...

Good effort on an OS I was unfamiliar with.

Good OS Choice, a bit repetitive by the end buddy, it was overall well written despite two grammar cringes, well written to an unusual topic choice.

DKTOS at all, but I thought this was good. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt on pacing, and it was pretty funny... 544 [slides left... ugh]

SOTM: Funny idea, didn't know the original song, but you did a good job showing how bored you were...very nice!!

I'm still a fan of this one because it's one of your more original topic choices!

One of the very best JP parodies I've had the pleasure to review, the original may not be a fav of mine, mainly because of its slow grinding monotony, but the new lyrics here capture that part/feel of it perfectly! :-)

I thought this was hilarious! I've been through my share of boring slide shows, so I can totally relate. Great work!

(SOTM) LOL - the original song's disparity with the tame parody content was brilliant on your part. Agree w/ Peter Andersson that the "slow grinding monotony" might have been an issue if the parody itself wasn't about slow, grinding monotony. :D
Phil Alexander - June 30, 2009 - Report this comment
Very good, to (as Peter just said) not one of my favourite Priest songs... but the Red Dwarf quote at the end really made it for me - I've been watching quite a bit of Red Dwarf recently, and that caused a bit of a chortle :-)

SOTM: Slideshow...boring! Losing...consciousness! Funny idea, well done!

Great work BPC. I can relate as I've been there, done that and got the T-shirt.
Now, would you like to see some pictures of me in the T-shirt ?

(SOTM) Well you already know what I have to say on this one TCOP. . .Judas Priest seems like only yesterday. . .

ABC5(XYZ) Can't stand to read your boring parody...Oops, just kidding!!!...In fact quite the opposite, as the sinister sounding music of the OS transformed the humdrum slideshow into an extremely funny take on one of life's most questionable forms of entertainment!!!...Excellent concept here!!!...Made me laugh throughout!!!...555!!!

(ABC) Not bad, not bad--except in many cases boring slideshows are supplanted by Facebook videos! 555 and some eyeshades!
