Welcome back to the Amiright Reunion Part 2! (This is my personal Part 2 for the Green Green Day Day round). I decided to write a 2nd one because I'm not sure how much everybody knows about "The Legend of Zelda". He's an elf-like character dressed in green who saves the princess and fights bad guys!

He's Deku Nuts and he's such a Boar!
My friends thought I was a huge dork
Loved my Nintendo Sixty-Four!
Arrows and bombs and calls to my mom
To bring me some cheese curls
Who's that bro in bright green clothes?
Deep in that tomb while annoyed by Navi!
Link save the day! Zelda's so hot!
Link save that dame who keeps getting caught!
Link save the day! Go smash those pots!
Beats up the bad guys but makes chickens freak!
Dad couldn't budge me from my TV
But then mom told him to "Triforce!"
The Master Sword made me mighty
Not mightier than my parents
Majora's Mask was one helluva task!
Gave that bunny hood a whirl
"Dangerous to go alone!"
This sword can shoot all those 8-Bit baddies!

I didn't intentionally have two songs that included references to "Back to the Future" up on the same day but that's just the way that these things worked out...

Didn't know the original song until know, don't know the subject, couldn't follow or even tell the puns - I guess I'm really a greenhorn here!
Never heard the original either - but glad I bothered to look it up because the version I saw was a live version that was really good - plus it morphed into "Shout" by the Isley Brothers and Billie Joe made sweet love to the stage while singing a Monty Python song so that was interesting too....anyway, I missed the whole Nintendo thing because I'm old.....but Hey! It went along great with the original and everything, an I trust it made sense and stuff - and never apologize for BTTF references, they're your density
I concur with the previous comments! Although i did have a passing understanding of a few of the references. I had a laugh at the imagery of "8-Bit baddies" :)
I'm sadly with the others here, Matty: had to look up the OS, and I know diddlysquat about Zelda...so I kinda missed the boat with this one...sorry! I can however comment on your writing quality, which is top notch
Not many video game fans here, Matty, at least I know some of what you speak of here, and it was well done, certainly! In a recording, have the horn section toot out Zelda's Theme during the break...
Didn't get as much out of this one, into video games a bit but didn't do Zelda back in the day.
