The Lyrics

this is what my view is of Keisha Castle Hughes's Clone taking over the planet...
These are the days of my long term rule
They will not be the last
Look around now
These are the days of the beggars
And the slavers

This is the year of the hungry child
Whose place is in the cage
Hand in hand with ignorance
And a lot of excuses

Paikea declares herself RICH
And most of us are not sure
we cant have too much
But we'll take our chances
Because Paikea stopped keeping score
I guess somewhere along the way
she must have told us all to die
Turned her back and all her slaves
Crept out the back door

Chorus
And it's hard to love,
There's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope
When there is no hope to speak of
And the purple-black skies above
Say it's much too late
Well maybe we should all be
Praying for time

These are the days of the empty hand
Oh you hold on to what you can
cause charity is going out of business
next year

This is the year of the guilty man
Your television takes a stand
And you find that what was over there
Is over here

Paikea screams from behind her door
Said what's mine is mine and not yours
I may have too much
But I'll take my chances
Because Paikea stopped keeping score
And you cling to the things
ma sold you
Did you cover your eyes when
she told you
That they can't come back
Because they have no children
To come back for

Chorus

And it's hard to love,
There's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope
When there is no hope to speak of
And the purple-black skies above
Say it's much too late
Well maybe we should all be
Praying for time

Well maybe we should all be
Praying for time

Well maybe we should all be
Praying for time

Praying for time...

very good sci fi ... should be a novel, dammit!

Although I'm not familiar with the story, and therefore probably not very welcome to comment, I am VERY familiar with the original song. I did encounter a few rhyming errors (rhyming "rich" with "sure" when the original rhymes "poor" with "sure") and syllable errors (for example "a lot of excuses" instead of the original "legitimate excuses"). But I don't want to be a whiner, so here's an up note: I believe I have come across a phenomenom in your parody that the parody author Stuart McArthur refers to as the "delight factor." If I understood correctly, this involves fitting complete original lines of the song into the context of your parody. I must trust you for your knowledge on the story and for your use of this writing technique. Again, I'm not familiar with the story, and so I couldn't vote. I trust others will correct all of my above statements when they come across this parody.
