Parody Song Title:

"Liberal"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

this is a response to the author of a previous Criminal parody that irked me and a response to the conservatives that don't seem to get the big picture.... Note that plenty of conservatives do get the big picture and have figured out that Bush only serves the interests of Corporate America and the fascist Christian Coalition...(note: a few lines intentionally don't rhyme with the original verses)
I've been a bad bad guy
I've been thoughtless to a billionaire's plan
and it's a sad sad world
When the people stop thinking just because they can
Don't you tell me to deny it
They've done wrong and they're gonna suffer for their sins
I've come to you cause I am sick of all your views
And I just don't know where I should begin

What you are is a good defense
To all those that are a liberal
Cause it's hard to be redeemed
With the ones I'm up against
Because they've all been bought by Karl Rove

Heaven help me for the way I am
I see all these evil deeds before you get them done
I know pollution brings the health issues at hand
But you keep living each day like the next will never come

Oh shun me, but don't tell me to deny it
You've gotta cleanse the air of all this smog
till it's good enough to breathe
We've got a lot to lose
and I'm begging hard and I'm begging you
Before it ends, let's work together instead...

What we need is a good defense
Cause they've demonized the liberals
And it's hard to be redeemed
In a world that's being dispensed
By sheer violence, death, disease, and drugs

When Bush leads the way
You know there's hell to pay
Given room to twist the law and bend the truth
We've gotta make a play
To let our freedom stay
So let's end these wicked ways
Now Cheney has to go

What he is, is a good defense
To all those that are a liberal
Cause it's hard to be redeemed
With the ones I'm up against
Because they've all been bought by Karl Rove

What we need is a good defense
Cause they've demonized the liberals
And it's hard to be redeemed
In a world that's being dispensed
By sheer violence, death, disease, and drugs

MrMacphisto - Boy, I don't know that many of the original songs you select for parodies, but the ones I DO know I consider GREAT matches for the subject theme's you deal with. Had mostly forgotten this Fiona Apple piece but I liked it when it came out. It's a perfect tune to go with your sentiments; ominous and conspiratorial. Hope this gets some attention out there. 5-5-5....Glad to see you "Precious Rings" got a decent number of looks, you have too many entries with only 1 or 2 votes on them on your author's page.

MacPhisto, Haven't seen you around the site lately. Haven't forgotten you, but when I check your author page list I see I've already been to all the ones where I know the original songs and voted (before the crash wiped the totals off the author's page.) I could recast votes now, but that would wipe off your earlier totals. Still, they deserve more attention. Hey, I'll just repost my original comments, the site is slow this time of night (well, morning now). It might bring some attention to your nice work. So my original comment from late March: MrMacphisto - Boy, I don't know that many of the original songs you select for parodies, but the ones I DO know I consider GREAT matches for the subject theme's you deal with. Hey, Paul... it's been over a month since you made this response above mine, but I'm finally back. I've been working on some new stuff lately. Look forward to some Simple Minds and Talking Heads covers soon. In the meantime, I'll see what I can do about voting on your new stuff.
