The Lyrics

I've heard Mr. Peanut sacrificed himself to save Wesley Snipes and Matt Walsh in a new TV commercial. The trio were shown hanging onto a branch after accidentally driving the Nutmobile off a cliff, with Mr. Peanut electing to let go and fall to his presumed death onto the Nutmobile, which then suddenly explodes. The company's social media outlets declared Mr. Peanut to have died. So, I've made a personal decision to bid farewell to Mr. Peanut by doing a new version of a song originally written by a British musician for Diana's funeral. Rest in Peanuts, my dear nutty friend.
Goodbye, America's Rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the nutty grace that placed itself
Where mouths were torn apart

You brought nuts to our country
And whispered to tastebuds in pain
Now you belong to heaven
And the nuts spell out your name

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset when the rain set in
And your nutty steps will always fall here along America's greatest hills
Your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will

Classiness we've lost
Those empty days without your smile
This jar, we'll always carry
For our nation's peanutty man with style

Even though we try
The truth brings us to tears
Words really can not express
The joy you brought us through the years

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset when the rain set in
And your nutty steps will always fall here along America's greatest hills
Your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will

Goodbye, America's Rose
May you ever grow in our hearts
You were the nutty grace that placed itself
Where mouths were torn apart

Goodbye, America's Rose
From a nation lost without a soul
Who'll miss the monocles of your compassion
More than you'll ever know

And it seems to me you lived your life like a candle in the wind
Never fading with the sunset when the rain set in
And your nutty steps will always fall here along America's greatest hills
Your candle's burned out long before your legend ever will
