The Lyrics

I wrote this parody on the night of February 20th, 2009 after thinking to myself that that night was unusually peaceful since my neighbors were being quiet and not playing their music loud, getting rowdy, dumping trash on my lawn and/or driveway or any of the many other odd things they do, that the sound of the heavy rain combined with the warmth of my wood stove and this parody's OS and other soft-rock love songs on my Ipod were soothing, and that I was just feeling very good that night. I will also mention that I was the target of a road-rage incident earlier that day, and that the morning and afternoon sucked in every way possible. I wrote this parody before going to bed, and I just found it and several other parodies after cleaning off my desk. And yes, I like watching the Golf Channel, and it actually relaxes me. Note: "Idiots" is pronounced "IDD-ee-its" and "neighbors" is pronounced "NAY-burrs" in this parody for pacing reasons.
Such a calming evening, after an awful day
And the heat of my burning wood kept the blues away
Watchin' the Golf Channel in my Lazyboy
It's so rare for this parody author just to be relaxed

And this is such a peaceful night
Neighbors are quiet
It's quite rare for this lovely lady
To ever feel so good
And I feel so good tonight
Finally got some rest
Tonight's enough to make my weird neighbors
Get some sleep and rest

There's a time for solitude, every now and then
When the good things in my life go as I had planned
There is no good reason to call the police
When the kids in my sleazy neighborhood don't act like idiots

And this is such a peaceful night
Neighbors are quiet
It's quite rare for this lovely lady
To ever feel so good
And I feel so good tonight
Finally got some rest
Tonight's enough to make my weird neighbors
Get some sleep and rest

You forgot the part about graffitti spraying.

Great effort Andria. I liked it. 555

Thanks, 2Eagle. I didn't think to add graffiti to my parody, although I get plenty of it on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, I had to remove a lot of gang- and drug-themed graffiti from my car and my garage door a couple of weeks ago. I always appreciate all kinds of comments on my parodies.

Conveys the peacefulness very well

Great job on this one, Andia. It was a very relaxing read...

Thanks to Jason, AFW, and Mark Scotti, who forgot one letter of my name. I hope that this parody doesn't have the soporific (sleep-inducing) quality for others that listening to the OS has for me.

Nicely done, Andria. Having lived in apartments over the past few years, I can relate to the content. I, too, hate when my neighbors get too inanely loud. Anyway, I enjoyed this one, and I think you selected a perfect OS for the parody. 5-5-5 ;)

I loved it, but it looks like some little Piss Ant just bombed this with a triple-one. I'd like to slap that fool silly.

I'm with AFW on this one!

Thanks for all the great comments, Serafina, A. Person, and TJC. As I write this, the peace of the night before last is a marked contrast to the huge rave in the house across the street and my next-door neighbor's dogs being excessively noisy. Serafina, I do not live in an apartment, rather, I live in an area of cheap post-WW2 housing that was built for returning GIs and their family and is now basically a white ghetto.

The pacing sucked, but the content was funny. I really liked your work on this parody, regardless of the pacing issues. 1-5-3.

Nice use of the OS for a peaceful night. I wish every night is peaceful, especially where I live because teenagers who live across from us always hang out after hours talking and carousing. Song is very sooothing! I stay up real late watching Nick at Nite. It's peaceful to me. Another thing I love to do on peaceful nights is to read books. Well, speaking of peace...Peace, Andria!! 555!!

Actually, I DKTOS and so can't fairly rate. You and I know why I posted the above comment; I appreciate your response at my song that inspired it; and also appreciate your being a good sport about the whole thing. Unfortunate that there isn't a way to retract one's votes. Peace, TT.

Thanks again, Tommy. I appreciate your appreciation about my being a good sport about your comment. I personally wish that there was a way to withdraw all my votes AND comments on the spammy "parodies" put out by a certain banned (yet still persistent until just recently) author from fall 2007 to last month, with the exception of those comments regarding deletion.

The author of the parody has authorized comments, and wants YOUR feedback.
