The Lyrics

From the day I arrived in the market
And blinking, stepped on to the floor
There was so much to be won
And I had so much fun
But now they have shown me the door

Some say eat or be eaten
No one says live and let live
But all are agreed as they join the stampede
You should always take more than you give

(Chorus)
Now there’s trouble and strife
Cos that wheel of fortune
Has just trashed my life
And I’ve abandoned hope
I have lost the race
It’s the great unwinding
It’s trouble
Trouble and strife

Sometimes we fall by the wayside
And sometimes we soar to the stars
But this time there’s nothing to save us
We’ll just have to live with the scars

Now there’s trouble and strife
Cos that wheel of fortune
Has just trashed my life
And I’ve abandoned hope
I have lost the race
It’s the great unwinding
It’s trouble
Trouble and strife

There's been far too much sub prime lending
Securitised and then rated so high
With a treble A slice
We took a roll on the dice
To stay on the merry-go-round

Now there’s trouble and strife
Cos that wheel of fortune
Has just trashed my life
And I’ve abandoned hope
I have lost the race
It’s the great unwinding
It’s trouble
Trouble and strife

It’s the great unwinding
It’s trouble
trouble and strife
I have left some of the words as in the original cos they fit the theme of the song

Very clever and appropriate dice and merry-go-round metaphors. Your CCR sounds like a lot of fun. Will there be a YouTube version?

The problem with u tube is that as I use tunes written by other composers which have been recorded by other performers and I use backing tracks recorded by other performers there are issues of breach of copyright and mechanical rights. It would be quite a job so do it legally by seeking permission from all the rights holders for a show with about 25 numbers in it! but what the hell I may just throw caution to Ihe wind and let them sue!!

I look forward to the YouTube version with great anticipation, but I will understand if you don't.
