"The End Of My Brand New Fence"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

Based on my former neighbor.
Remember where my yard begins?
'Cause I'm building a big new fence
So my dogs can run around free
Oh, it makes a lot of common sense

When putting dogs in the garage fails
And we've been closing the door on their tails
You'll hear me hammering some nails
You'll hear it all day long

Our trampoline and spa you still can go
Just go in through the house
We're the sixth neighbors you have had
And I heard that some made you grouse

And I will nail that fence into my yard
When I wax it I'll park my car there
And it will be right here hence and this is the end
This is the end of my brand new fence

Oh, beautiful it is to me
I got instructions from tv
I'm beating fenceposts into grass
Beer bellied, middle aged, but now my yard is free

Wife and kids like this idea
And we'll be right here for 'bout forty years
My riding mower's got ten gears
You'll hear me bang my thumb

Oh, but I can find where this fence should go
I'll wash colors right in
I'll sit and watch the wet paint dry
As my big yard waves in the wind

I put my head back on the fence
And let the paint spill all intensely
My face painted really dense but this is the end
This is the end of my brand new fence

Who knows how long this will last
We might move somewhere real fast
But somewhere back there in the lawn
Your yard next door, miss walking on

Oh you will remember this
I think that I heard a snake hiss
I think that it is on your side
Can I borrow some nails?

Just lay your head back on your grass
And look at my fence it has class, see
And it's here from this day hence, this is the end
This is the end of my brand new fence

Good fencing makes good neighbours -- or as my protegé and satiric successor, Lord Shellenback, says, "Good fences make good neighbors -- and good parodies:" I Fiveth thee.

Eagerly awaiting Ausfahrt to post a brilliant, stunning parody that puts us all to shame and explains his disdain for every single post today.

Now this is what you call making yourself at home! A homemade satire, Phil! Posting fences 555 yards to your home!

You *did* get who Lord "Shell-in-back" was, right? ... just makin' sure...
Phil Nelson - February 25, 2010 - Report this comment
Oh, I missed it, sorry TT. I knew that wasn't their real name but I had to use it
Tommy Turtle - February 25, 2010 - Report this comment
Phil, just for future refs, one of my many quirks (many no doubt quite annoying) is I like to have fun by making up punny nicks for comments, but putting in a clue as to who the real poster is. Often, iTT's jusTT a double-T monogram, like those, but any other refs to the persona are clues.

It might not be to everyone's liking, but I amuse myself, at least -- and a few others here have taken up that hobby at times (not all the time) -- so be alert -- the world needs more lerts! ;)

Of course you should comment back to the same name, in the absence of other info. Sorry if it tripped ya, but once in a while, a few peeps find 'em funny. ;) Cheers.

Yeah, I've often got it before when you did that, just missed it this time.
