The Lyrics

A revisited version of the parody I wrote back in 2004 about the horrid pop version of "Beauty and The Beast" recorded by teen group Jump 5 for the Disney Mania album, I wrote the parody picturing Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson singing about how they feel about Jump 5's take on the song. In hindsight, realizing my parody wasn't the most well-written I've ever done, both in terms of humor and pacing, I decided to revisit this parody and came up with what I feel is a much improved version that fits the message of the original parody much better. Although no longer relevant, I thought I'd still post it here for people to enjoy. Original parody can be found here:
Tell me it's not real
True it sure can't be
Covers can be good
But these kids, they should leave this song alone

Such an awful change
Bad, to say the least
Oh, it makes me scared
I hear it in my head
Don't buy their CD's!

Not good for my ears
Not a good surprise
The way it was before
Better sound for sure
Dare they even try!

(Instrumental break)

Not good for my ears
Not a good surprise
The way it was before
Better sound for sure
Dare they even try!

Passion is all gone
Singing's too damn fast
So forced, fake and lame
Thinking you'll reach fame
Jump 5, you are wrong!

Certain as the sun
Rising in the east
Walter's version is what we all should hear*
Peabo and Celine!
I'm sure you'll agree
I've got one last plea:

Don't buy their CD's

Don't buy their CD's
*This line refers to music producer Walter Afanasieff, who produced the original pop duet by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson.
