The Lyrics

On November 18 and 19 of 2005, I will be playing the part of "Marshall Brown" in The Nashoba Players' new dinner theatre production, "The Award Show". At the request of the director, I've been "commissioned" to write some parodies of show-tunes that we will use in this upcoming performance of "The Award Show". This particular parody will be sung by the character Nick Measley, the relentless Paparazzi.
You want to show 'em your stuff
But you need me to win you some fame!

I'll snap your buns in the buff
I've got no shame!

Any fool with a camera
Can take shots of a star

I shoot 'em be-tween the eyes
To get the money-shot of surprise!

I only need --
one --
shot --
and --
a for-tune is mine!

A little flash-y
trash --
and --
I got my gold-mine!

My GOLD-MINE!

You're in the eye of my lens
Set-up to take the ultimate shot!

So here's a flash you'll regret
Your shot I've got!

Every star's fame I plunder
Dumb stars wondering why

Why they hate me but still smile
Smile while I pile on the guile

They cry "cheese"
And I seize
A shot
the
Tab-loids buy!

JD, are you sure that the director didn't hold a gun to your head and force you to write song parodies against your will? "Smile while I pile on the guile," and a lot of other good lines.
