The Lyrics

As a REP that has voted Partyline since Reagan, I am very upset with Romney's choice of VP Paul Ryan. Romney was not my favored candidate anyway and so after many months I started to warm to him as long as he was sticking to the issues. But with his choice of Ultra-Conservative Ryan who wants to make extreme cuts that will affect the lives of millions of the poorest in America and those on Medicare, I cannot in good conscience vote for that ticket. I will most likely write-in a candidate for the very first time. This is without doubt the worst election in history with the worst candidates on both sides. Romney only chose Ryan to appease the Tea Party fanatics and to show that he is Conservative enough to deserve a vote. But Romney is already at odds with Ryan's plan and so proves his unreliability. He is a rich outsider that has no connection to the struggling Middle Class of which I belong. I am also disabled and on Social Security and have Medicare. Maybe the rich REPs don't give a damn about SS and MC, but I do. I am for job creation and using America's natural resources to replace dependency on foreign oil. I support the education system and protecting the poorest of Americans and Entitlements. Extreme cutting is not the answer. Employment is and promoting American goods and services worldwide. End of story...
Oh maybe, maybe, oh maybe, maybe… hmm???

Oh Romney, Romney… how am I supposed to vote?
The election’s almost here
Oh Romney, Romney, I might have to let you go
You‘re too far to the Right, yeah
Romney with Ryan scares me
Plans are iffy, ‘cause I need to know WHY, extreme cuts???

(Chorus)
My good conscience is killin’ me (and I)
I must confess I don’t believe (don’t believe)
Budget will be fixed by either side
Fiscal landmine, GOP- maybe not this time!

[Write-In candidate will do just fine]

Oh Romney, Romney, wanted to vote for you
You got me all excited
But Romney, Romney, Paul Ryan’s not the one I’d choose
Rubio, (was) better candidate

Tea Party are the ones you pleased
You bent your knee, took a Conservative vow, extreme cuts!!!

Oh Romney, Romney… how am I supposed to vote?
Oh Romney, Romney, I should just let you go
I must confess that my good conscience
Is killin' me now
Don’t you know I don’t believe
Cuts won’t be severe
A fiscal landmine, GOP- maybe not this time!

[Write-In candidate will do just fine]

I must confess (my good conscience) my good conscience
(is killing me) is killing me now
(I must confess) no fool (I don’t believe) no I don’t believe
Cuts won’t be severe (outta your minds)
A fiscal landmine…
GOP- maybe not this time!

I’m not voting Partyline…

Sorry I missed this one yesterday Robert - this pretty much sums up the election year. Liked your stance in the intro; very sensible. I lean towards conservatism, but realize that some so-called 'entitlements' are very necessary to help those that need help, especially in this poor economy. My beef is with the huge amount of fraud in the system, and our penchant to reward people who are gaming the system. It appears to me that the Dems just seem to believe those people do not exist. I live and work in the real world and I see it every single day. Politics are not going to solve anything anyway; personal responsibility and common sense are at an all-time low in this country and cluelessness is at an all-time high. I also note that the Republican slate was dire from the start - there was only one person on there that I even considered was worth a vote and unfortunately said candidate was dead last in the polls (see death of common sense above). If I did vote (and I don't) I think I would go for Obama, simply because he is the lesser of two evils and hey - the country is in such a mess that I figure give him four more years; maybe, just maybe he may surprise us all and clean things up. After all, he wants to leave office with a good legacy. I was for Obama four years ago; somehow his candidacy just seemed 'right.' I disagreed with many of his policies, but felt the same about McCain. So we might as well go for four more years; we are at rock bottom and there is nowhere to go but up. I may be a cynic, but I am still a bit of an optimist (can those two co-exist in one brain? Hmmm...). Okay, end of rant. :)
