The "seed" is the gene-seed, which changes a recruit's DNA to turn them into a super-soldier. And these guys are the lesser evil, despite being a dictatorship screaming "by the will of the God-Emperor!". I may be generalising the franchise a bit, but that makes it funnier. FOR DA WAAAAGH!!!

I always thought HALO and those types of sci-fi FPS games were rip-offs of the movie "Starship Troopers" and the old sci-fi TV series "Space Above & Beyond"! Anyway-555 (I'm a gamer too) :)
