The Lyrics

Whole lotta rain delays in the Northeast lately.
Big game, some rain
Maybe a hit off the maryjane.
Good eats, wet seats
Keepin’ mud off the players’ cleats.
They come rollin’ just as fast as they can
Tryin’ to keep the field dry on this tarp pressed land.

Ground crew, more brew
Pancho’s soaked and so are shoes.
Lawn vast, roll fast
Runnin’ wild must’ve been a blast.
The dugout’s flooded with the infield sand
Tryin’ to keep the field dry on this tarp pressed land.

Delay, same pay
Can’t predict if they’ll ever play.
Rainout, downspout
Nothing dry and lookin’ for drought.
A doubleheader seems the Master’s plan
Tryin’ to keep the field dry on this tarp pressed land.

Another great OS...From the title I was expecting a parody about the government's TARP program, but I should have known from your "Weight" parody that you were in a baseball frame of mind today...Great job, nonetheless...555!!!

Raining down 3 sets of 5's on your parody. Yeah, those game delays do such. My bro used to play little league baseball but couldn't have practice or the game for awhile due to the field being wet and all.

Very timely and soaking parody, Jim. Especially all these rainouts in the metro area that we've been getting this week. If the sun comes out today, I'm going to fly to it like Icaris!!!! 5 makeup games to watch!!!

Thanks Leo, Christie, Alvin & Mark. I've always been entranced with ground crews, always wanted to smooth the infield, draw the lines, batter's box etc...and to be part of the rain delay chaos must be a great fellowship for those guys wetter you enjoy it or not.

What Leo Keough said, re :TARP. You could do this same title switch as v.2, although frankly it was a relief not to hear any more about the econ! Loved the maryjane line ... Spider-man's best friend! (too ashamed to put blatant plug here). ... btw, if they play football, a much more physical game, in rain or snow, why can't they play baseball? Wimps. Anyway, here's Five "hits" for ya ... and take that any way ya like!

I too thought this would be TARP song, but nicely done. I got to the 555, so it is a parody that is official.
