This is the story of T'Challa, ruler of the African kingdom of Wakanda that is kept secret from the world. A meteor containing alien vibranium crashed there and ever since then outsiders, both good and evil have tried to enter-in Wakanda to exploit the material. As both ruler and the Black Panther, endowed with special powers from their Panther God and a heart-shaped herb, T'Challa must balance his cultural heritage with the changing outside world and the threats posed both internally and externally. Having fought off the White Wolf and Man-Ape, Black Panter enlists the help of the Avengers to fight the Klaw and other menaces. For their part, the Avengers receive the vibranium technology that goes into Captain America's circualr shield and special armaments. Black Panther's own suit is a vibranium-mesh type and in turn he receives Adamantium claws from the Avengers. Black Panther is an Avenger but alternates between Wakanda and the outside world, performing his royal duties while prowling for evil intruders...
