I'm beginning to think the old secular despots were not so bad after all. Hussein, Khadaffi, Mubarak, and Assad were a buffer against the jihadis and the Persians. Would Saddam have sold us Kuwaiti oil? I think he would have? Same goes for Saudi oil. No need for us to kill or especially die in that Allah-forsaken desert. Let the Russians repeat the mistake they made in Afghanistan.
