Parody Song Title:

"The Krag-Jorgensen"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

First US high-velocity small bore rifle...
The Krag-Jorgensen
First non-powder rifle put in US hands
Used new .30-40 ammunition
2000 fps, smooth bolt action

The Krag-Jorgensen
The Rough Riders carried carbines
In tough Spanish-American War action
Made the charge up San Juan hill firing them

The Krag-Jorgensen
French, Germans, and Russians converting in those days
Last were Americans
US Army had experienced delays
Until the day, Roosevelt had to have them

First non-powder rifle put in US hands
Used new .30-40 ammunition
2000 fps, smooth bolt action

Owned one of these, long ago. Full-length rifle. You almost never see one anymore. Most were cut down for deer hunting. Wonder where the producers of "Rough Riders" found all the carbines used in that movie.
