Zimmerman had his gun rights, Trayvon the right to live. Since nobody knows how the fight began this trial ultimately was decided by the evidence of Trayvon on top and Zimmerman's insistance that he was afraid for his life. He had an excellent attorney and so he walks... getting away with manslaughter IMO. He should have never pursued- period.

Article I saw on admittedly right wing web site said Zimmerman had turned away and was going back to his truck when Trayvon jumped him. What we had was a failure to communicate, some well-founded racial profiling, and a gun. Bad combination all the way around. Notice all the rioting is taking place in California, where self defense (outside of Hollywood movies) is frowned upon. Not in Florida where would be rioters must consider the implications of this controversial verdict. Code for this comment "6AK". Zimmerman and his family will need at least that many in the days to come.
