"On the Road Again"

 (MP3)
Original Performer:

Parody Song Title:

"He's Kryptonian"

Parody Written by:

Robert D. Arndt Jr.

The Lyrics

A tribute to the DC movie "Man of Steel."
He’s Kryptonian
Kal-El adopted by a mortal man
As Clark Kent his soul-searching came to an end
When General Zod came to kill once again

He’s Kryptonian
33 years and he’s “Superman”
Met Miss Lois Lane on whom he can depend
When General Zod came to kill once again

He’s Kryptonian
Son of Jor-El won’t allow Zod to have his way
Earth he must defend
“Man of Steel” is on his way to save the day
And his way, is justice, not revenge

Kal-El adopted by a mortal man
As Clark Kent his soul-searching came to an end
When General Zod came to kill once again

I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Superman had landed in Britain instead. He probably would be named Kent Clark and would work for the Daily Mirror as paparazzi! He would have to defend the British way of life and fight Gen Sod over the banning of fox hunting! His name? Krypton Knight :)

Have just seen a couple of reviews in which Superman is compared to the story of Jesus the Christ. Hebrew name. Age 33 when he begins his mission, etc. What is your take on this interpretation?

Kal-El in Hebrew can mean "Voice of God". In the O/T angelic names like Michael (Who is like God?) and Gabriel (Hero of God) always have the El. Satan/Lucifer's Hebrew name is Halel (Light of God or Brilliance). Lucifer means "Light-bearer" in Latin. Ah endings also mean God but off Jehovah as in Uriah (Flame of God). Superman certainly stands out as a Christ-like figure of self-sacrifice, integrity, valor, purity, with the inability to lie. During his journey from Krypton to Earth he is instructed on his mission by his Father which ultimately is about guiding and saving the human race.
