The Lyrics

Despite appearances, sporter clones of AR-15s and AK-47s are NOT assault weapons at all. They are single-shot and lack a flash suppressor, bayonet lug, selector switch for fire control, and have 10 rd mags instead of 20-30 rd. No way that type of rifle is fit for combat. And to top it off, 95% of gun violence in America is caused by handguns which already faced a similar ban on certain makes and models as well as a reduction from 15 rd mags down to 10 rd mags. It didn't make any difference at all. The only thing positive is mandatory gun locks with sales. That's a smart decision, but the rest is nonsense. No one is ever gonna put a dent in gun sales in the US or stop their use unless the Federal Govt. uses the ATF or DHS to illegally confiscate civilian arms. In that scenario, the illegal bad guys retain theirs while law-abiding and free citizens lose their constitutional right to bear arms. And THAT is Un-American to the extreme. We are a nation of gun owners and have the right to defend ourselves and families.
A hard road again
Assault Weapons Ban makes the news again
Controversy over what NRA defends
New battle between DEMs and Republicans

A hard road again
Clone “sporters” are NOT assault weapons
Single-shot (needs) trigger pulled again-and-again
New battle between DEMs and Republicans

A hard road again
Massacres start when psychos use guns to “bullet-spray”
They need attention
But punishing gun owners- making THEM pay
Is the wrong way, not a solution

Assault Weapons Ban makes the news again
Controversy over what NRA defends
New battle between DEMs and Republicans

I wish our side would stop arguing over terminology and selector switches. The 1934 National Firearms Act is just as unconstitutional as the 1968 Gun Control Act, the 1986 Firearm Owners Protection(?) Act and the 1994 Assault Weapons Ban. I own a gun because I want one. No further justification necessary. They are afraid someone is going to shoot them. Crime, schools, mental health are all smokescreens.
