Parody Song Title:

"Donald for President"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

U.S.A.
In two-thousand and sixteen
Who needs an intelligent president?
What does that even mean?
Talking shite
One candidate's barely sane
Is he the man Republicans
Want to head their next campaign?

Nooooooooooooo...

"Donald for President!" shout the chumps
Those froth-flecked loony berserkers
They want President Trumpety Trump
Trump, Trump, Trump
"Donald for President!" shout the chumps
They want old crotchety Donald
Vote for President Trumpety Trump
Trump, Trump, Trump

Night by night
He'd go just a bit too far
When Donald was off on a big tirade
He sounded quite bizarre
"Dirty tricks"
Is Donald's repeated song
They quoted him verbatim
And he said that they were wrong

"Donald for President!" shout the chumps
Who'd say "goodbye" to all burkhas
They want President Trumpety Trump
Trump, Trump, Trump
"Donald for President!" shout the chumps
They want old crotchety Donald
Vote for President Trumpety Trump
Trump, Trump, Trump

The next in the polls is Carson
Falling away
So sad that he thinks reality
Is second'ry to faith
So "Donald for President!" shout the chumps
So raucous up at the caucus
Vote for President Trumpety Trump
Trump, Trump, Trump

Nooooooooooooooooooo...

"Donald for President!" shout the chumps
Who'll lead the GOP circus?
They want President Trumpety Trump
Trump, Trump, Trump
"Donald for President!" shout the chumps
So raucous up at the caucus
Vote for President Trumpety Trump
Truuuuump!
Truuuuuuump!
Truuuuuuuuump!!

Despite the Dump Trump protesters and Trump's own hate-filled rhetoric, he still maintains the national lead among REPs at 25-28% depending on the polls. 555 more gaffes... but probably no change in status. He well might be the GOP nominee!!!

At least he would be entertaining. The rest of that pack is the biggest bunch of losers I've seen in years. I remember "Nellie the Elephant" from the old Dr Demento show. Is he still around?

It's starting to remind me of the way the press (over here) ridiculed Ronald Reagan for being a Hollywood actor and not a Washington politician. Didn't he go on to win all the states but one aginst Carter? Donald started out this autumn as the wackiest of the bunch, now he's a moderate (and self-financed, not to forget) in the middle compared to nuts like Carson and Cruz who says they'll actually work to bring on the end of the world according to their regligious beliefs. I think it's a fair chance by spring he's the obvious unifier the whole party (and possibly the nation) will rally around while most of the rest of the world understands nothing. (Also, he's the funniest of 'em to write parodies about, obviously).

Peter, Reagan was California Governor for two terms.

:-) Thanks all

Rob - at times, it does seem like Trump is trying to push just a bit too far.. actively attempting to hit a point where the public will go "no, that's just too outrageous/offensive/just plain dumb", but it really doesn't seem to have affected his support at all so far. Which is quite bizarre.

Peter - I wouldn't call him a "moderate", though when put next to Carson and Cruz I guess he does look like it (both economically and religiously). Big difference compared to Reagan is that the latter was more like a vessel others poured their ideas into, and he was very good at delivering them as though he believed what he was saying, Trump just keeps coming up with ever more strange rhetoric. Given that his popularity is low among women and rock bottom for most minorities, it's fairly unlikely that he'd be a unifying influence in the country as a whole (and it'll make it almost impossible for him to be elected president, a prediction which is worrying Repujblican party chiefs more than a little bit.. but then, who else is there in that field to do any better?)
