Parody Song Title:

"London's Falling"

Parody Written by:

The Lyrics

London's falling like a gingerbread town
Now jihad is up, and freedom is down
London's falling on medieval days
Crawl into your shelters, avert your gaze

London's falling, and we're losing ground
Gave away our boundaries from penny to pound
London's falling, see a brolly don't stop
Machetes a-chop in a butty shop

A dark age is coming, it quickly descends
Stoning becoming the way to make amends
Union Jack lowered and my fate's unsure
'Cause London is burning and I live by the sewer

London's falling, now we never walk alone
And mind your color if you're in the wrong zone
London's falling to a coward PM
Took all our rights, and threw 'em in the Thames

London's falling as we fritter about
And while the clock's ticking, our time is running out
London's falling, see we ain't got no news
Except BBC and their fairytale views

Our home is becoming an alien land
Country folk running, displacement is at hand
A border wide open, yet I shall endure
'Cause London is burning but I, I live by the sewer

A dark age is coming, it quickly descends
Upstart they call me, for noticing the trends
A city in terror, but I shan't demur
'Cause London is burning and I, I live by the sewer

Now vet this...

London's falling, yes, Tommy's there now
And when Katie agreed, well, there's a bloody row!
London's falling on your media screen
And after it's done, was it all just a dream?

I never witnessed such a sight a sight a sight...

I was considering using this song for that topic. I have a contingency song on this issue I've been thinking about. A little Bowie diddy.

This was a good parody. The syllable count was correct, and the meter (pattern of stressed and unstressed syllables) accurate. The rhymes were at the right places. It is not as funny as I think they want it here. But sometimes humor tends to be overrated. I never got the feeling I was reading an alternate story line. That isn't a big problem if you are just posting it here. But it could be a problem if you intend to perform it (or have it performed) publicly. You might have trouble demonstrating that it is transformative. That is, Is your parody really a separate creative work? Good job, thank you for submitting this. And I look forward to your next stubmission.

@Arch - I'll be on the lookout for it! @Glenn- Thanks! No worries about public performances, I'm way too shy. :)
