The Lyrics

Residents of Brooklyn shout out to their rich neighboors to the west in Manhattan, and to the rest of the world...
Brooklyn calling to the neighboring towns
Manhattan, you suck, you affluent clowns
Brooklyn calling to Long Islanders
Enjoying the suburbs, you little girls?
Brooklyn calling - you lookin' at us?
We will break your face if you don't hop on that bus
Brooklyn calling, no, we ain't from no Queens
'Cross the BQE we will break your knees

The Nets, they are coming, the cash flowing in
Magnet for yuppies, the mob is intrenched
Subways stop running, but you'll like it here
'Cause if you don't like it we'll dump - you in the river!

Brooklyn calling to the folks who bitch and moan
Fuhgeddaboudit - you can take your ass home!
Brooklyn calling crooks in Los Angeles
Your 'Dodgers' name don't make a bit of sense
Brooklyn calling - Whatchu talkin' about?
Our Flatbush makes Broadway look like a rural route
Brooklyn calling, we're a bunch of wiseguys
Let us know when murder's decriminalized

The Nets, they are coming, the cash flowing in
Subways stop running, the Wonder Wheel spins
Who needs Yogi Berra? Just wait 'till next year
And if you don't like it we'll throw - you in the river!

Now I'm pissed!
Brooklyn calling, yes you're royally screwed
And now you'll meet my fists, called 'thing one' and 'thing two'
Brooklyn calling to the Manhattan isle
No we are the best, you're the ones in denial
Brooklyn calling
Whatevah, you've been left alive alive alive alive....

Hard to believe some people thought the Duke was actually better than Mickey and Willie. Anybody remember that "Good Morning Brooklyn" sketch on "Saturday Night Live," co-hosted by Jay Mohr and Courteney Cox? With Molly Shannon giving Chris Farley "Da Beatin' o' da Week"?

Whatchu talkin' about? Charlie, don't you live in Manhattan? Are you one of those rich neighboors? Anyway, well done, Charlie.

Oh, I'm a Manhattanite, alright. I just thought it would be nice and charitable to give a voice to those Brooklyn residents who have (not) struggled to find one over the years.
