The Lyrics

A tribute to a show I've actually never watched, but sung from the perspective of someone who has. Makes no sense? Just like most of The Muppets. Enjoy!
Miss Piggy and Fonzie, man, they're really funny
Then Scooter and Beaker, oh, Waldorf and Statler
They're weirdos, don't care though
Gotta watch the whole show
The Muppets!

If you want a good wheeze
I suggest The Muppet Show
There you can see Gonzo
Species is unknowable
Hear songs from the band
Doc Teeth and the Electric Mayhem
Yes, that doesn't quite rhyme
Neither does The Rhyming Song, my man
Oh, that Muppet Show

There's Gonzo and Rizzo, ooh, I swear no homo
And there's Kermit, poor bastard, deals with these idiots
Lew Zealand, is throwin'
Fish in all directions
Ooh, what's not to love about The Muppet Show?
The jokes come fast
And while some make me groan
Never gets too bad, though
I love The Muppet Show

Who's on this week? Loretta Swit, that's sweet!

Ev'ry song's a treat
Whether played straight or stupidly
Hand puppets made me cry
Just One Person agree with me
May have plastic eyes
Emotions in there, guys
Cancelled after season five
That sucks but re-runs keep it alive
Still love The Muppet Show

There's Johnny Fiama next to Sal Minella
And there's chickens, lots of 'em, Camilla's the main one
She's dating Great Gonzo
Not making that up, no
Ooh, there sure is weird stuff on The Muppet Show
You'll check your glass
To see if it's spiked, though
You'll be too busy, bro
Laughing, I know it's so

Fall to bits laughing at their antics

Everyone I know
Has seen that awesome Muppet Show
One of the truths I know
Is that you will have a ball
Watching the Muppet Show

There's penguins and Pepe, also Crazy Harry
I'll bet that you wanna sing Mahna Mahna, huh
There's Rowlf and some others
Lots of weird characters
Ooh I wanna marathon The Muppet Show
I'll make it last
Until the next film, though
That might take ages, oh
Still got The Muppet Show

The Swedish Chef's crazy, always brings the funny
Animal is feral, breaks the volume level
I'd bring up the films, though
Outta time, cheerio

I think Pepe started in the second version of this show called "Muppets Tonight". Very short lived, I think only maybe a couple seasons or maybe only one season but it was a more up to date and modern version of the 70s one (totally 90s making fun of Baywatch and stuff). After the release of the new Muppet Movie I was hoping that they were going to renew the show AGAIN and I think that would have been awesome. A couple years later and nothing came of it YET but I still have hope for a Muppet Show remake.

Nostalgic fun for the whole family, just like the original show. Well done. I seem to recall a sequel called 'Fraggle Rock', mainly musical parody, which for me was always the best part, thanks to Jim Henson's sure touch. We lost him much too soon; RIP Jim.

Calling Fozzie Bear "Fonzie" almost made throw my phone out the window, but the charm and name drops more than made up for the error. As an official member of the Muppet Show Fan Club during its five season run, I grant you. 555; wakkawakkawakka!

am I the only one who noticed the slight pacing error during the chorus? I had the actual song playing as I read this and it seemed a few extra words were thrown in at line 5 oh well nothing too severe still thoroughly enjoyable 455 P.S. I have never seen the tv show either but if the movies are anything to go by then I can understand the hype

Matthias - I knew Johnny Fiama first appeared on Muppets Tonight, but I guess I should've checked to see if anyone else debuted there, or at least mentioned Tonight in the parody.

Lifeliver - Less a sequel, more an entirely new show just with the same approach to design and storytelling. I think, never seen FR. RIP Jim indeed.

Agri - HOW THE HELL DID I NOT CATCH THAT?! God, all my research for characters and crap and I gave one of the most iconic Muppets besides Kermit, Miss Piggy and Gonzo the wrong frigging name. I feel like such an idiot. Thank you for not holding it against me.

Jonathan - Not a pacing error, it's just a case of overlapping lines. While the back-up guys are singing "Baby why don't we go", the lead singer jumps in with "Ooh I wanna take you down to Kokomo". Took me a bit to get my head around that.

Gotta remember those old muppets movies back in the days. Also there's the Muppet Babies...

(Artistry) Love the Muppets and this parody just makes me smile. They're such a loveable and fun group of characters. I'm glad they've lasted throughout the years. Good homage to a great franchise.

I enjoyed this, used to love watching the Muppet Show back in the day. Lots of good lines.

Artistry...Oh my gosh, I love the Muppets!! LOVE THEM. I also caught the Fonzie thing...but really...the huge Muppet induced grin on my face could not be erased.
