The Lyrics

Ralph Nader is running for President (AGAIN) and Democrats fear he will cost them this election, just as happened in 2000.
"Votes for Nader"

Hello Nader, my old friend,
I hear you're campaigning again,
Because you've a vision of winning
Instead it seems you are sinning
Against the chances for Progressives to win,
Once again,
Cause of the votes for Nader.

So proudly you say you'll stay the course,
But e'en the Greens won't endorse
Your reach for some liberal fame;
You might make the election results the same
Just by splitting all of the votes that are anti-Bush.
Let's kick your tush!
And stop the votes for Nader.

Now your campaigning has begun
Though thousands asked you not to run.
People spoke but you were not hearing,
When you speak we won't be listening
You'll give speeches for crowds that will not come,
cause you're dumb
There won't be votes for Nader.

"Fool" we say, "you do not see
The awful reality.
Hear our words that we might reach you,
Listen to all who once loved you,
But you helping Bush makes us more mad
And real sad
Because of votes for Nader."

And the voters howled and brayed
At the false leader self-made.
Then the signs flashed out in warning
Of words that we will be forming
And the signs say, "Its time to defeat Bush"
We speak this through out our whole land
Bush is out of hand
His best hope is votes for Nader

Pacing was a little off and you stuck a little too close to the original lyric at times, but I have to ask - since when is a vote for Kerry progressive? And while I don't plan to vote for Ralph this time either, enough with the "he cost Gore the election!", already! Face it, kids, the Supreme Court cost Gore the election. That, and Gore was so middle of the road and non-progressive that he couldn't even win his home state...and this is why they call me Ravyn Rant... Nice effort, though! :)

*shrugs* I see what you're getting at, Ravyn, but the reason why Gore didn't get his own state is that Tennessee is a shi*hole. Then again, that could be said of a lot of states. Thankfully, this time around, the Green Party probably won't endorse Nader, so he'll have to run as an independent, which means that he won't show up on ballots without a massive amount of petitioners, and most people will have to write-in their votes for him. It's kind of funny how we went from George Washington, who said, "political parties only serve to divide the people", to a system that literally favors parties over individuals. Perhaps, democracy is on its way out....

Like the sentiment Jim. Hopefully Nader will pull out or something. But this time we got to make sure we go all out for Kerry. And don't let the saboteurs of the right OR left get to us.

Haven't heard the original, so can't vote. All I wonder is, who is worse for our country? Kerry or Nader? I shudder at both.
