The original was written by Van Morrison. The mountain region is usually pronounced "AP-a-LAY-chin," but the university calls itself "AP-a-LATCH-in," so I'm using that. You think writing parodies is easy? YOU come up with a viable rhyme for "Appalachian" -- in either pronounciation!

The bad news is, Michigan lost at home, at Michigan Stadium, the Big House, in front of 110,000 fans, to both Appalachian State and Oregon. Last year, they were a field goal away from playing for an undefeated National Championship. This year, they've started 0-2 at home. The good news is, they didn't have to travel to lose, Oregon was wearing their road whites and not their hideous lemon-yellow home jerseys, and now Michigan gets to play the equally embarrassing 0-2 Notre Dame.
