| Original Song Title: | "Another One Bites The Dust" |
| Original Performer: | Queen |
| Parody Song Title: | "Lieberman Bites The Dust" |
| Parody Written by: | Steve Kalafut |
Joe Lieberman withdraws from the campaign to win his party's presidential nomination.
Joe campaigns in the primaries
With polls numbers way down low
Ain't no sound but hanging chads
The voters ready to go
Is he ready, is he ready for this?
Is he hanging by the skin of his teeth?
On super Tuesday, Kerry wins
Joe goes down to defeat
Chorus:
Lieberman bites the dust
Lieberman bites the dust
And another one votes, and another one votes
Lieberman bites the dust
Dean, and Sharpton hang around
Lieberman bites the dust
How do you think we're going to get along
Without me, when I'm gone?
I tried to give everything that I had, but
Couldn't hold out on my own
Mr. Kerry, are you satisfied?
How long can you stand the heat?
On super Tuesday, the ballots fly
To the sound of Joe's defeat
Chorus
Lieberman bites the dust
Lieberman bites the dust
Lieberman bites the dust
Lieberman bites the dust
There were plenty of reasons to vote for me
And make me President
Now it's time to get out while the
Getting's good, my campaign money's spent
Yes I'm ready, yes I'm ready to quit
And go back to my Senate seat
On super Tuesday, the ballots fly
To the sound of Joe's defeat
Chorus
With polls numbers way down low
Ain't no sound but hanging chads
The voters ready to go
Is he ready, is he ready for this?
Is he hanging by the skin of his teeth?
On super Tuesday, Kerry wins
Joe goes down to defeat
Chorus:
Lieberman bites the dust
Lieberman bites the dust
And another one votes, and another one votes
Lieberman bites the dust
Dean, and Sharpton hang around
Lieberman bites the dust
How do you think we're going to get along
Without me, when I'm gone?
I tried to give everything that I had, but
Couldn't hold out on my own
Mr. Kerry, are you satisfied?
How long can you stand the heat?
On super Tuesday, the ballots fly
To the sound of Joe's defeat
Chorus
Lieberman bites the dust
Lieberman bites the dust
Lieberman bites the dust
Lieberman bites the dust
There were plenty of reasons to vote for me
And make me President
Now it's time to get out while the
Getting's good, my campaign money's spent
Yes I'm ready, yes I'm ready to quit
And go back to my Senate seat
On super Tuesday, the ballots fly
To the sound of Joe's defeat
Chorus

I want to go on record saying I hadn't yet read this one when I posted my "Season On the Trail," with its opening reference to Joe's campaign biting the dust. Just a coincidence.
He may have done better in a Republican primary.
I like Joe, but this is very funny. Ironic contrast between song and Lieberman's low-key personality works.
Robert-Joe actually got an endorsement from a right-leaning website called Newsmax. Jay-Speaking of irony, when I looked up the lyrics to the original, I found that the first word was "Steve", which means that the song was about a guy named Steve getting shot full of lead.
