The Lyrics

Don't you hate it when you click on a link to a video and it says, "This video contains content from so-and-so, who has blocked it in your country on copyright grounds"? Or when a video you liked is removed for copyright? I hate it too. I actually rate Bill Clinton's signing the bill into law as his worst action ever, more damaging than the Lewinsky scandal! And when I found out that the Digital Millenniums Copyright Act is actually being abused by major music corporations, I decided that something must be done. I think we should repeal this law and replace it with one that says you can use music if you have paid for it. I have written this parody right before I leave for my Costa Rican vacation. Wish me luck!
Now listen
There are some videos I liked
But YouTube was forced to take them down
Saying someone has blocked it in the States
On some stupid "copyright grounds"
I know they're abusing the DMCA
We gotta get a change from this rampant blocking
They should let us use it if we paid
If you could hear me think this is what I'd say

Chorus:
Don't need nothin' but some reform
Time to change the law
Ain't lookin' for nothin' but some reform
Together let's all right this wrong

CEOs spend their money on women and wine
So you can't trust them handling copyrights
Now take a look at the shape YouTube's in
'Cause they take stuff down every now and then
I know they're abusing the DMCA
We gotta get a change from this clear corruption
They should let us use it if we paid
If you could hear me think this is what I'd say

(Chorus)

You see I raise a toast to all of us
Whose unique videos were removed
If artistic freedom is such a crime
Then, mega-corps, the problem's with you!
Here's to YouTube!

(Chorus 3x)
Just to underscore my point, I give you permission to videotape yourself singing this parody and put it on YouTube.
