The Lyrics

Hey, Agrimorfee & Yoidy - guess what this song is a follow up to? Haha, yep. Just as "the Final Cut" is widely considered to be a follow up to "the Wall", I've decided to do the same. 2nd full-album parody, here I come!I'll let you decide for yourself, and make your own assumptions as to where this picks up, and how it relates to "the Mall".Later on, I'll make it a little more black and white, as far as the story goes.
[Sound of radio being switched on]
"...and come to Macy's after-Thanksgiving sale!
Friday to Sunday only! Prices marked down on..."
[Static, radio playing various other clips of
ads for different stores]

Let's go out, to the mall.
Thanksgiving sales, and all
Oh I'm sure we'll have a ball
Presents for you? Presents for me?
Gifts we'll stick beneath the tree
Is that a bulge of wadded fifties in your hand?
It isn't for the gifts
Spending so much, without much thrift
And it won't be much fun for me
Don't feel too Christmas-y
With all these kids spending across the land
Let's have some fun, baby, let's have some fun
Let's have some fun this Christmas
Best not pout, best not cry
Best watch out, I'm telling you why...
Oh baby, baby, let's have some fun...
Go ahead, draw your own conclusions - if you think of something, write it out in the comment box. I'll tell you later what exactly is going on.

Oh dear me! Do you realize you are attempting to parodize what many regard as the least popular, but still underrated, work in the P.F. canon? I will be very surprised if Yoidy will put in some words towards this. This has a good start, sort of a preamble to what will invevitably be covered in the upcoming tracks. Wow...555

Since I've been a Pink Floyd fan for 30 years, I can tell you that it's their most forgettable album. Even so, I did enjoy it, and played it over and over. I haven't listened to it in 20 years. Maybe your parodies will refresh me!
