Watched an HBO series about Jerry Buss and the 1980's Lakers. The series ended in 1984 with the Lakers once again defeated by the Celtics. The last scene showed owner Jerry and his total hottie of a daughter, Jeannie, having an F-bomb laced bonding moment at center court of the Forum; basically telling each other that things will work out cause they "f*****g OWN this" (whatever the **** that means) and then they both giggle like schoolgirls .... And before I could say "What a stupid @&&ed way to end the show", The song "Shadows of the Night" booms out and you watch the triumphs of the cast of characters. And my reaction was " Now THAT was awesome" So in recognition thereof ....

Not bad at all. In fact this is so good I’ll give you a set of genuine 555 votes. Obviously all the other votes are caused by the_conqueror_of_parodies cleaning out the cookies.

I know diddlysquat about sports in general, but I know a well-written parody when I see one. You made it interesting to read by changing the chorus each time (Capn--Hook--was that pun intended? :) ). Disregard the voting tabulations and disregard the accusation that The Conqueror Of Parodies "cleans out the cookies"--I have known him through this website since his first days here and he would not engage in this behavior. All that really matters here is genuine positive feedback and constructive criticism. in spite of what I said about voting, 555 from me. Cheers.

Pun was not intended. I was referring to Kareem Abdul Jabbar who was known for his hook shot. Except all of his three Arabic names are accented on the second syllable, which doesn't fit "Baby" in OS. But he was the team captain and was often called "Cap'n" or "Cap" accd to the show .. The fact that you saw a pun there is pretty amusing. Apparently I'm funny even when I dont mean to be ;-D

I shan't take the bait for your remark. Truly, I shan f-bombing not. I favored neither the Lakers nor the Celtics at the time. I just turned the games on, lit a campfire for toasting marshmallows and enjoyed the show. It was great theatre. Two completely different cultures, two completely different styles of play
