During the Chenchan Wars a group of Baltic biathletic female snipers nicknamed the "White Tights" (alternately, the "White Stocking Brigade') wreaked havoc on invading Russian forces, killing rumored hundreds of soldiers. They were called "White Tights" due to their white winter athletic apparel and were countered by a Siberian female Spetsnaz sniper called the "White Wolf". So many urban legends have sprung around these two, that finding the truth is difficult. But according to many sources, the "White Wolf" infiltrated their operating area and systematically took them out using nothing more than a modified Sable hunting rifle with a 6th Generation Kalinka nightscope. She also carried the new GSh-18 pistol that fired 9mm AP rounds and the used it on the last "nest" of them. When she was finished, the female sniping incidents practically ceased. Several nations requested information on the sniper war in Chechnya and this operative, but got no response.
