Parody Song Title:

"Like a Chameleon"

Parody Written by:

Royce Miller

The Lyrics

I made it through the jungle, yes
My colors got me through
Had to turn every shade of green
To blend in, too

Came to rest by a pond
And my skin, it did respond
Cause I slowly turned
yes, I ever so slowly turned
Glassy and blue

Chorus:
Like a chameleon
Out for the very first time
Like a chameleon
Hear my heart beat, like a chime

Gonna move through desert now
My green is fading fast
I'm turning another hue
It's a soft bronze cast

I'm so fine, I combine
With the scene, with the daily grind
I'll sit beneath a ledge
I will sit beneath a ledge
And I will unwind

(Chorus)

oooh, ooh, ooh

I'm so fine, I combine
With the scene, with the daily grind
Cause you know I feel
Cause you know I feel
I have just got to hide!

(Chorus)

Like a chameleon, oh oh
Like a chameleon, oh oh
Feels so good to hide
Incognito, undercover, living color

ooh ooh baby
see me turning colors for the very first time?

Quirky!

Rice--quirky is a good description for me

What's the matter Royce, you look a little green =) You'll probably get points taken off simply because chameleon doesn't match virgin in pacing, but if you sing it out loud, you can make it fit pretty easily. This is the best song I've ever seen about chameleons.

And Jeff--Tell me, just how many songs have you seen about chameleons! That was a slick little comment.
Jeff Reuben - June 20, 2003 - Report this comment
Well, Karma Chameleon for one =)
Royce Miller - June 20, 2003 - Report this comment
you know, Jeff, I forgot about that one--

It took me some time to remember it too. Anyway, this is better than any parody that I could write about a chameleon =)

Its also the best song Ive heard about chameleons....and, Karma chameleon is not really about a chameleon....its used as a metaphor to describe Boy George's former lover, the bands drummer, who was not like he used to be...thats where the lyric "Youre my lover, not my rival" came from
Jeff Reuben - June 20, 2003 - Report this comment
That explains a lot. I know Boy George was weird, but a lizard fetish was over the top, even for him.

The parody might not be knee-slapping funny, but the way that you turned a Madonna song into a song about nature made me smile.

John J.--and your comment made me smile, thanks; sometimes I just can't crank them out funny
