The Lyrics
The pallid sturgeon is a large fish of the missouri (big muddy) river watershed. I write songs about science, and this seemed like an appropriate subject, without taking sides in re the controversy surrounding the management of the river for the survival of the sturgeon (and other fish and wildlife).

I finally made it through fish school.
Somehow I made it throu-ou-ou-ou-ough.
But I'm just a fry, and I still make a mistake or two-oo-oo.
I was lost, almost squashed
In the big muddy’s water.
Now I'm trying to avoid,

An asymmetric tail,
Cartilaginous skeleton,

It looks incomplete; I don't think you parodied the whole song. But the concept is great, I gotta give you credit for that.
I was thinking about a sturgeon and this came into mind, so i googled "Like a sturgeon". Well, I have to say, i applaud you.
