The Lyrics

I went to a kitchen last Saturday night
I had the munchies
I wanted a bite
Oh no. I don't see nothing

Looked for a plate and then I got some bread
Had to find a clean knife with which to spread,
Uh, huh. Think I'll eat something
I went to the kitchen last Saturday night
Didn't I just say that? I'll be alright
Uh, huh. Got to eat something thing

And I know what I want
Just got peanut butter and bread
But I know what I want
Just plain peanut butter and bread
Oh, no
Looking once, Looking twice
Can't believe I don't have, jam or jelly!

Shed a few tears, had to cry
Sittin', hungry, the time goes by
Uh, huh I'm still so hungry
Want to eat, but no jelly
Plain old peanut butter doesn't do it for me
Uh, uh. I want my jelly

And I know what I want
Just got peanut butter and bread
But I know what I want
Just plain peanut butter and bread
Oh, no
Looking once, Looking twice
Can't believe I don't have, jam or jelly!

Looking once, Looking twice
Can't believe I don't have, jam or jelly!

C'mon baby where's the jelly?
Baby won't you buy jelly?
C'mon pretty baby, buy me jelly!

Thanks. Guess not too many Lita Ford fans here.
Suzie Cream Cheese - December 04, 2003 - Report this comment
Probably because she didn't have very many hits.

That may be true Suzie. However the greatest music ever made never became a hit and was never heard on the radio. Bands like Iron Maiden, Slayer, Frank Zappa, W.A.S.P., and Lita Ford depended more on word of mouth and fan base. Some bands like Motorhead and the Ramones were/are very succesful without a hit or platinum album. Cheers!
