The Lyrics

This is a little tribute to a show I loved as a kid, and I still love.
Little ditty about Sesame Street
On TV ‘bout 40 years, that’s quite a feat
Big Bird was the show’s 7 foot icon
Until Elmo came along with his “Elmo’s World” song

Oscar livin’ in the trash, acting like a grouch
Grover’s got, what, a few dozen jobs; boy he’s not a slouch
Ernie say, “Hey, Rubber Duckie, I’m awfully fond of you.”
He goes off to the bathtub, that’s what rubber duckies do
And say a

“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away.”
“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away.”
A let’s go

Bert tries to relax while his roommate’s a bathin’
Ernie wants to have a game of tag, Bert’s not playin’
Cookie Monster must really have a serious problem
But you know The Count’s obsession really got him
A bit beat but

“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away”
“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away.”

Gotta give ‘em cred
And give props
Because even now
This series’s still in the tops
It doesn’t matter if I’m young or old
I’m gonna keep watching ‘till I’ma growin’ mold

“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away”
“Oh yeah, sunny days
Long after the clouds are swept away”

Can you tell me where’s Sesame Street?
There’s a lot of Muppets there that I’d like to meet.

James - This fine parody is brought to you by the number 5 (three of them). Wonderful job. I like some of their later characters as well...Placido Flamingo, Meryl Sheep, and Dr. Feel! ;D

Thank you guys kindly. I feel it should only be fitting to do an homage to a show I'll watch even on my death bed. Grover and The Count are the best!
