The Lyrics

(instrumental opening)

Well, stop the press! And hold the phone!
Brad Pitt came out today!
And born-again is Miss Lindsay Lohan.

Trimester third, and heading for home:
Paris Hilton had a kid!
And if you believe a word of this, then, man...

Oh, I got you, roach!
A prank I did play
today.
I got you, roach!
A prank I did play
today.
I got you.
It's not true.
April Fool!

Well, I spent some time with a girl of mine.
Named Catherine Zeta-Jones.
You know I took some lumps
but with her, did not strike out.

So, Nelson, Willie, gave up pot.
And, whoa, Ralph Macchio?
Don't say it ain't so! He punched Miyagi out!

Oh, I got you, roach!
A prank I did play
today.
I got you, roach!
A prank I did play
today.
I got you.
It's not true.
April Fool!

(instrumental break)

Yeah!
I gotcha!
I gotcha!

So, I root for Mets, like disco tunes.
And now I like to watch Fox News.
You know, I think I brought back my brother Bernard.

Just to pull your leg.
You're down a peg.
Just having harmless fun.
It's gone, and you can tell that one's a lie.

Oh, I got you, roach!
A prank I did play
today.
I got you, roach!
A prank I did play
today.
I got at you.
It's not true.
April Fool!

Oh, I got you, roach!
A prank I did play
today.
I got you, roach!
A prank I did play
today.
I got you.
It's not true.
April Fool!

Yeah!

(instrumental close)

Michael - Fair enough! Delightful idea and very nicely done! I'll see you at the A.C.L.U. meeting later today. ;D

So one of these news and statements are fake huh? I gotta keep up better with the news, I can't figure out which one! ;-)

They're all bogus, Peter. But look at the bright side: Don Cherry did an op-ed piece in the Toronto Star about how now, he likes Swedish hockey players. Oops, that one's also fake. (For those unfamiliar: Don Cherry, former coach of the Boston Bruins and longtime talking head on hockey broadcasts, thinks only Canadians can play the game, and that Europeans, especially Swedes, are wimps. I guess he never heard of Ulf Samuelsson.)

Michael, did you know that when Henrik and Daniel Sedin of the Vancouver Canucks took to number 1 and number 2 in scoring points the other week it was the first time ever two brothers, and twin brothers at that, held the top positions together like that ever? Well, it might have happened in the early rounds of September sometime way back, Swedish media are not sure, but if they manage to secure those positions by the end of the regular season (not impossible) it definitely will be one for the all time books. Not bad for a couple of brothers who were called the sisters Sedin during their early NHL years!
