Fred - Count on it. In The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Universe series, the dolphins were extremely intelligent extra-terrestrials and desperately trying to communicate with humans about the impending doom of Earth by leaping out of the water and performing difficult acrobatics. Their most spectacular stunt actually meant "Good-bye, and thanks for all the fish!". ;D
