The Lyrics

You had a bad day
You look at him the way you're scared
Even Prairie Dawn shouldn't honestly say
Some things aren't hard to care
And someday
Don't be too afraid all right
And if that Cookie Monster would be greenish,
being red,or orange,pink,maybe white

But I guess if Cookie Monster's not blue
So he really would be green or gold too
Being just yellow,turning to purple
Glowing in orange,making it simple
Oh and what if Cookie Monster's not blue

Forget Prairie Dawn
Color him green with the paint
Now Cookie Monster's going very envy
And things are never be the same

Count me in kids
The letter of the day was
Just not a cookie he'll imagine
Thinking twice without a fuss

I guess this is how the cookie crumbles. I don't know about everyone who grew up on "Sesame Street"... before it became "Deep Space Elmo"... but I never found anything funny about Prairie Dawn. Cookie Monster was always funny (though a kids' show character really should say, "I want a cookie" instead of "Me want cookie"), but he's not funny here.

Parodies like this one make me wonder if the author is only 6 years old.

It would explain the obsession with children's programming, especially those ridiculous Japanese cartoons.
