The Lyrics

Enjoy!
You could never know what it's like
Sittin on the beach and
In the summertime
And youre sittin in the sunlight
Right by the pool
You have suntan lotion all over your hide
Yes it is all over you

And it protects
You from a sunburn
Well, look at me
I'm outside in the tan

I go into the pool
And swim away
And if you need to know
That I'm still tanning
In every way

Don't you know I'm still tanning
And will be till the summer ends
Covered all in a sunblocker
Im like king of the tanning beds

I'm still tanning after all this time
I will be for as long as the sunlight
But I never would at night

I'm still tanning (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I'm still tanning (yeah, yeah, yeah)

Then went I got a tanning bed
No sunburn oh no no
Leaving me beet red
I no longer
Look like a piece of wonder bread
And if I had gotten sunburns
I'd look like a clown's nose now

Don't you know I'm still tanning
And will be till the summer ends
Covered all in a sunblocker
Im like king of the tanning beds

I'm still tanning after all this time
I will be for as long as the sunlight
But I never would at night

I'm still tanning (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I'm still tanning (yeah, yeah, yeah)

Don't you know I'm still tanning
And will be till the summer ends
Covered all in a sunblocker
Im like king of the tanning beds

I'm still tanning after all this time
I will be for as long as the sunlight
But I never would at night

I'm still tanning (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I'm still tanning (yeah, yeah, yeah)
)
I'm still tanning (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I'm still tanning (yeah, yeah, yeah)
)....

Just the thought of Sir Elton John laying in a tanning bed like a Thanksgiving turkey turning golden brown....LOL! Very funny, Jack!

(ABC4-I) I don't tan, I just burn. This was crisply done, Jack - it was easy to follow to TOS, which is usually tough with Elton John. 5s

As Popeye would say - "That's alls I can tans; I can't tans no more". This leather has been tanned to perfection. Nice write there young Jack.

(ABC4) see above - tanning at night! ah, so that's been my problem - I could have tanned all night, I could have tanned all night, and still be white by morn - at which time I'd have me a slice of wonderbread - very seasonal for us Aussies too, bobpie

(ABC4) Better bread than cocaine Stuart. . .anyway, very funny Jack. . .and it paces pretty well too.
Agrimorfee - December 27, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC4) So Jack, are you saying that you are still tanning? Got it.
Matthias - December 27, 2007 - Report this comment
Did you write this parody while tanning by the pool, because that can be kinda dangerous especially with the beach balls and wet towels everywhere that can easilly mess up a computer.
Cat - December 27, 2007 - Report this comment
(ABC) Like bobpie said, this is a little repetitive, but as it's an earlier work I can definitely see how far you've come since then.
