Jin - Good job here and close to home. It reminds me of my mother! ;D
Why do you think they call them "one armed bandits". Gambling is always touted as a source of funding for schools and other government projects. That money won't accrue from paying out big prizes to everyone who steps through the door. Like booze and cigarettes, gambling is a reliably steady revenue stream because it is based on compulsions. Your lyrics capture that frenzy. If you are in the mood to gamble on another parody, check out "Down on the River".
Gambling is far too lucrative to those in government. The people who run 'serious' gambling are the Mafia. They tend to be a bit more intelligent as to what is needed to get and keep the profits. (Intelligent as in utterly ruthless and without a shred of scruples. The government tends to have some scruples and a lack of the needed 'stone' to wade through rivers of blood and create mountains of corpses. Shall we take our luparas and make our guns warm? The Mafia people don't ask such questions - all they do is blow people away. Nuff said, and it's Snuff time if you're 'made'.
